Paraffin Therapy

Process and Benefits of Warm Paraffin Therapy Treatments
Paraffin wax has a very high heat capacity, meaning it is able to absorb and retain a great amount of heat. When applied to an area of the body (i.e. hands, feet, back or spot treatment) the melting paraffin quickly changes into a solid. The heat that is transferred is referred to as the “heat of fusion”.

After paraffin is applied, the warmth from the paraffin increases the blood supply to the area being treated by drawing moisture from the underlying layer of the skin. The moisture surfaces and mixes with the applied moisturizer and the fluids are unable to evaporate because of the paraffin layer. The moisture is then infused back into the skin resulting in a deep penetrating heat and well-hydrated/nourished skin, allowing the deep -penetrating heat to soothe achy muscles and joints.

Full Back Treatment ($16)
This treatment is very relaxing and healing, it is the ultimate in hydrating the skin while warming and relaxing the muscles.  Your session begins with a full back massage. Then, layers of warm paraffin are placed on your back sealing in the moisture while allowing the heat to penetrate deeply into your muscles. Hands OR Feet Treatment ($14/both $24)
A warm lotion is applied while  gently massaging your hands and/or feet. We then apply warm paraffin to your hands and/or feet, utilizing a plastic liner. This liner creates a seal which improves heat retention. Next, a mitt or booties are slipped over the plastic liner. After the paraffin is removed, incredibly soft, moist hands and/or feet are revealed. Finally, we end your session with another massage on your hands and/or feet.
